Mock Trial Team
Willow Glen is one of approximately 20 public and private high schools that participate in the Santa Clara County Mock Trial Program. Students in Mock Trial have the unique opportunity to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before a court. Each year, Mock Trial teams across the state analyze and prepare a hypothetical criminal case that is provided by Teach Democracy, a civic engagement and education organization. Past cases have involved such topical issues as unlawful search and seizure, felony hit and run, and forced labor human trafficking. The mock trial season – from team selection, case preparation and competitions – runs from September through February. Willow Glen’s team is coached by Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Brit McCormick. The Drama department offers Drama One/Two and Advanced Drama. Additionally, we perform three productions per year (Fall One-Acts, Winter Musical and Spring Musical).
