College & Career

The Willow Glen High School counseling team is located in the Mickey Long Library. The center is open Monday through Friday 8:00-3:30 pm.

Counselors are the central resources to help students develop their post-high school goals as they move through high school. Our resources and support services include:

  • Programs for college preparation and career exploration for all grades
  • An information library complete with college brochures
  • Scholarship and financial aid information
  • Career and vocational exploration resources
  • PSAT/SAT/ACT/AP test preparation and registration materials
  • On-line career/college search programs
  • SCVTE class registration
  • Community College class registration
  • Work permit applications; and much more

Numerous college and career representatives come to WGHS and give presentations to interested students throughout the year. One of our primary goals is for our students to graduate from high school and go on to college and/or advanced training! You are welcome to use our considerable resources to help you pursue your dreams.

The College and Careers Center has many resources to help your students explore college options.  We have guide books to colleges and on college majors.  Many colleges visit our campus throughout the year and meet with students.  We promote local College Fairs and the preview days and presentations offered by many campuses.  Class sessions on preparing for college take place in Junior and Senior English classes.  Seniors can book small group college application workshops during the first semester, and Juniors can book small group college preparation sessions during the second semester.
